Here's another one from The Scientist.  This is actually me covering an old Love Button song.  The Scientist will be out soon - cover art is now done, and I'm basically just waiting on a test pressing, and then there will be a few days before CDBaby gets it in the system to sell.  I expect to release it within a couple of weeks, though!

Here’s me blithering about the song “Cargo”. If you haven’t heard the song, this isn’t going to make any sense to you.

And here it is. I think more people have asked me when there was going to be a recording of Cargo publicly available than any other Love Button song I ever wrote. This is definitely a rough, unfinished version, though; there are still a few mistakes and I’m not totally thrilled with the mix. Nevertheless, it’s decent enough to show to company.

I’ve included a commentary track as well, since I think the background information for this song is extremely interesting. The song is about the beliefs of several groups of indigenous people from New Guinea, and a person dying of a peculiar disease that’s only transmissable by cannibalism. As always, any factual inaccuracies fall under the heading of “artistic license”, and as such are immune from prosecution. Enjoy!
